How do I make an APED profile picture?
It takes about 60 seconds. Go to pfp.aped.wtf, pick a style (try Classic APED or Laser Eyes for your first one), optionally upload a selfie for the "APEDify" feature, then click Generate. Your AI-generated PFP will appear instantly. Download it or share directly to X (Twitter) with one tap.

How do I share my APED PFP on X (Twitter)?
After generating, tap "Post on X". On mobile, your image is attached directly in the X app. On desktop, the image is copied to your clipboard - paste it into your X compose box with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V. The share text is pre-filled with "$APED" branding and a link to your gallery page so followers can make their own.
What is the APED share card?
The share card is a branded promotional image that combines your PFP with the $APED logo, your style name, and a rarity tier badge. It's designed for Twitter/X - bigger, more striking than just the PFP alone. After generating, click "Share Card" to open the compositor. You can also download a trading card version as a keepsake.
Can I upload my own photo?
Yes. Tap "Upload Photo" before generating, select a selfie or any image, then click "APEDify". Gemini uses your photo as a reference and transforms it into an APED-style character while keeping your likeness. The photo is sent to the API for generation and is not stored permanently.
What is the rarity system?
Every generated PFP gets a rarity score based on the combination of style and source type (preset vs. photo). Tiers are Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. The rarer styles and generation methods produce higher-tier cards. Rarity is shown on the gallery detail page and on the trading card export.
What is $APED?
$APED is a memecoin on the Solana blockchain. The PFP generator is a community tool built to drive identity and viral growth for $APED holders. Every time someone changes their profile picture to an APED PFP and tags @OfficialApedDev on X, it signals conviction and helps the token grow organically.
How do I get my PFP reposted by @OfficialApedDev?

What AI model does the generator use?
The generator uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, a multimodal image generation model. It uses 13 APED identity reference images as anchors to keep the ape character consistent across all styles.
Are the generated images stored publicly?
Images can be optionally published to the Community Gallery - you control this. After generating, you can opt in to add your PFP to the gallery, where others can view it and use it as inspiration. If you skip the opt-in, your image is only accessible via direct link.
Is my data private?
Yes. We don't collect personal information - no names, no emails, no accounts. Your IP address is hashed (one-way SHA-256) for rate limiting only. We don't use cookies or persistent device tracking. Session data is stored in your browser's sessionStorage and cleared when you close the tab. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I delete my image?
Yes. After generating, you can delete your image using the delete option on the result screen. This permanently removes the image from our servers and database. Public gallery images can also be deleted at any time.
Is my photo used for AI training?
No. When you upload a photo for APEDify, it's sent to Google Gemini for one-time AI transformation. EXIF metadata is stripped before transmission. Google does not retain your image after processing, and it is not used to train AI models. We don't store your original photo on our servers.
How long are images stored?
Private images (not published to the gallery) are automatically deleted after 90 days. Public gallery images are retained until you choose to delete them. Security logs are kept for 30 days for abuse prevention, then automatically purged.
